Vanessa McAloon, 48, was riding her motorbike along A4075 at Penny Bridge, Pembroke Dock, Wales, when her husband, Jim McAloon, 52, riding behind her knocked her down and ran over her after she braked hard in an attempt to avoid an oncoming vehicle.
She died from her injuries after the accident.
Worse, since the tragic crash, Mr McAloon’s business went bankrupt and his home was repossessed.
Vanassa, a driving instructor, had just recovered from cancer.
The court heard the driver of the oncoming Corsa, 84-year-old Jean Williams from Pembroke had tried to overtake the tractor "too cautiously". She was arrested but later spared jail after being convicted of causing death by careless driving. She was also sentenced to one year in prison suspended for two years, and was banned from driving for two years.
