The 28-year-old mom-of-one, Ekaterina, was at her workplace - a shop selling stretch ceilings in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk when the horrific incident occurred.
On CCTV footage, the armed attacker could be seen looking around apparently scouting the area to ensure nobody else was in the shop but his would-be victim before brandishing his knife before the victim.

She fought her hardest but sadly not enough as the armed attacker succeeded in pushing her to the floor but she wasn't gonna go without a fight grabbing the rapist's hand together with the knife cutting herself in the process.

She said she offered him money to release her but he refused.

All these was going on when transport engineer Alexander Vysotsky walks past the glass door of the shop on his lunch break happening on the "disturbing" scene of "a man between a girl’s legs"convinced he was "attempting to rape" her.

He acted promptly jumping to the injured lady's rescue, together with his friend, Mikhail Svityuk, held and bound the 29-year-old attacker with a duct tape until police arrived.

Hero, Alexander Vysotsky has been hailed a hero by the locals and media.

Making light of the situation, Alexander Vysotsky said:
"Anyone would act the same way in my place."
"I do not consider myself a hero."
"I think Ekaterina did well. She did the right thing."
"She took the attacker near the door and grabbed the blade of the knife."
"I'm afraid if he had got her in a back room, she would not have got away with only a hand injury."
Ekaterina identified herself and posted a message thanking Alexander Vysotsky for saving her.

She wrote:
"We need to know our heroes' faces."
"I'm deeply grateful to you for my rescue - my guardian angel."

In a police video, the suspect confessed to attacking her, and faces up to two years in jail.

The 29-year-old suspect who has since confessed to the crime and faces up to two years in jail said:
"I do not know why I did this, the devil made me."
"The girl took away my knife. How could she?"
"But anyway I don’t know why I did this."
"I'm guilty..."
"She took away my knife, I just wanted to take it back... and it turned out that when I was taking back the knife, she cut her hand."
"A girl took away my knife, can you imagine?"
