Pablo Escobar's former hitman Jhon Jairo Velasquez nicknamed 'Popeye' shared a video via his twitter handle declaring his support for Uruguay duo Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani - definitely to motivate them in their next World Cup Qualifier fixture against Paraguay tomorrow (Wednesday, 7 September, 2016) . They lost the first WCQ game to Argentina last week friday.

Popeye as widely known during his reign of terror if I may write it so, is reported to have personally killed about 300 people and ordered the murder of over a thousand.

He did 22 years before being paroled for his crimes and has since reinvented himself as a youtube star with a channel called Popeye Arrepentido (meaning; Remorseful Popeye). He's amassed over 166,000 subscribers.

His message translates:

Keith Vaz, 59, a married father of two and a member of the United Kingdom Parliament resigned his position as the Chief of the Home Affairs Select Committee after some damning photos and chats were published showing him soliciting gay sex and sex-drug called 'poppers' from some Eastern European male prostitutes.

You must know Keith Vaz was in charge of monitoring crimes, immigration and drug policy almost a decade until this shocking revelation .

He lied to be a washing machine salesman called Jim in a bid to conceal his identity after his sexcapade.

During the first meeting with the prostitutes on August 27, which lasted for 90 minutes, he reportedly offered to cover the cost of cocaine, if it was brought to his flat, and also asked for sex drugs although he said he won't be using them.

On the day of the sex meeting, the male prostitute sent a text to say he was buying the sex drug to which the MP allegedly responded "great".

Later, when he was told another escort would join them, Mr. Vaz allegedly texted: "How will this work, do you want me to fuck him first or all together.

"Does he like poppers. Does he speak English."

Later in the encounter the older escort asked Mr. Vaz "what do you want?" to which he allegedly replied "You, I'm getting very horny".

Before the sex started, Mr. Vaz reportedly said:

"Take your shirt off. I'm going to attack you."

But Mr. Vaz now claims now claims he was drugged and that the newspaper paid the escorts to con him. 

In a statement on Sunday night released to the Daily Mail, Mr. Vaz who represents Leicester East said:

"I am genuinely sorry for the hurt and distress that has been caused by my actions in particular to my wife and children. I will be informing the committee on Tuesday of my intention to stand aside from chairing the sessions of the committee with immediate effect."

"At this time I do not want there to be any distraction from the important work the Home Affairs Select Committee undertakes so well."

"Select Committee do vital work in holding the government and others to account. We are due to publish two reports, one into Anti Semitic and the other into FGM in the next few days, in addition, we have a number of key witnesses."

"I will of course inform Committee members first of my plans when we meet on Tuesday. My decision has been based entirely on what is in the best interest of the Committee which I have had the privilege of chairing for the last 9 years." 

 Speaking to Sky News this morning, he said:

"It is deeply disturbing that a national newspaper should have paid individuals to have acted in this way. I have referred these allegations to my solicitor Mark Stephens of Howard Kennedy who will consider them carefully and advise me accordingly."

FC Barcelona and Brazil star man, Neymar Jnr was on Sunday mobbed on pitch by a few fans who invaded the pitch to hug the footballer.
The incidence happened during an outdoor/open training session Manaus with over 15,000 supporters present.
The fans were eventually escorted away by officials not before they hugged and fell together with the star footballer.

U.S STAR MEGAN RAPINOE KNELT DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM IN SUPPORT OF COLIN KAEPERNICK

Megan Rapinoe who plays as a midfielder for the U.S national football/soccer team knelt during the United States' national anthem on Sunday night before a soccer game in Chicago.

Rapinoe has however admitted the move was intentional. Indeed, it's in support for Colin Kaepernick who has sat during the U.S national anthem in protest against racial injustice in the U.S.

Megan Rapinoe knelt during the national anthem tonight in Chicago. Says it was intentional, "a nod to Kaepernick."

There's been conflicting reports regarding the total number of casualties as the Syria state media has put the number of casualties to be around 38 while the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group put the number of casualties to be 47.

Other attacks happened at Hasakeh, Homs, Tartus and Damascus suburb of Saboura.

The attack in Tartus according to reports, claimed 30 lives.

POPE DECLARES MOTHER TERESA A SAINT AND MODEL OF MERCY.

Mother Teresa (died September 5, 1997) was on Sunday declared a 'Saint' and model of mercy by Pope Francis. This' apparently due to her work in improving lives especially by spreading the gospel as best as she could, preaching 'salvation' (one of the best gifts from God) and calling out world leaders for the "crimes of poverty they themselves created."

Pope Francis said:

"Let us carry her smile in our hearts and give it to those whom we meet along
our journey especially those who suffer," 

He praised her for her anti-abortion stance, defending the unborn, defending the sick, defending the abandoned.

He said:

"She bowed down before those who were spent, left to die on the side of the road, seeing in them their God-given dignity." 

"She made her voice heard before the powers of the world, so that they might recognize their guilt for the crimes of poverty they themselves created."

He repeated, "The crimes of poverty they themselves created."

According to correspondence that came to light after she died in 1997, Mother Teresa experienced what the church calls a "dark night of the soul" -- a period of spiritual doubt , despair and loneliness that many of the great mystics experienced. In Mother Teresa's case, it lasted for nearly 50 years-- an almost unheard of trial.

She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979

USA: GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY APOLOGIZES FOR SELLING SLAVES TO PAY OFF DEBT

Georgetown University in U.S apologizes for its historical links to slavery most especially the 272 slaves sold to pay off the University's debt sometimes in the 19th century.
The University has offered to give admission edge to descendants of these slaves. that were sold.
It's about time... 

The will create an institute to study the history of slavery at the school and it will rename two buildings that had honored presidents who oversaw the 1838 sale of 272 slaves, who had worked on church-affiliated plantations in Maryland.

"This original evil that shaped the early years of the republic was present here," Georgetown President John Degioia told an audience that included descendants of the slaves. 

The university will hold a mass of reconcilation "in which we will seek forgiveness for our participation in the institution of slavery, specifically for the sale of 272 children, women and men who we should regard as members of our community."

The steps go further than those taken by other U.S. Universities that are confronting their past association with slavery, including Harvard, Brown, Princeton and the University of North Carolina.

But some criticized as inadequate the decision to give the descendants of the sold slaves the same admissions preference as the children of faculty, staff and alumni.

"We remain hopeful that we can forge a relationship with Georgetown that will lead o 'real' atonment," Karran Harper Royal, an organizer of a group of descendants, said in an email. 

She added that the school should have offered scholarships to slaves' descendants and included them on the panel that made the recommendations. 

The 18,000-student university will also create a memorial for slaves whose work benefited the school, including those sold to plantations in Louisiana to pay off Georgetown's debts.

Descendants of the slaves will be included in a group advising on the memorial.

The school will rename its Freedom Hall for Isaac, the slave whose name led the list of those to be sold, and Remembrance Hall fo Annie Marie Becraft, a black educator. The buildings  had previously been named after the presidents who gave a pass to sell the slaves.

Students at dozens of U.S Universities protested last fall over the legacy of racism on campus. The protests led to the resignation of the president of the University of Missouri and prompted many schools to review their diversity commitments.

"Georgetown, being a Catholic institution, really can't escape the moral problem of that history because it's come to challenge its Catholic identity," said Craig Stephen Wilder, a history professor at the Massauchusetts Institute of Technology.
