AUSTRALIA: Mother shares photos of her injured kids following an accident, urges parents to use rear-facing restraints

Angela Brown from New South Wales, Australia, has urged parents to use rear-facing restraints when placing children in a vehicle following an accident. The mother said she was involved in a head-on collision with a tree while driving through a rural area of New South Wales, with both her young daughters. One daughter, who was placed in the car facing forward, suffered severe spinal injuries in the crash after an air conditioning vent had broken and hit her in the head.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, May 23, Mrs Brown said her experience in a serious car accident presented her with "hard evidence" that promotes the safety of rear-facing restraints.
"Don't make the same mistake as I did. It could cost you your babies life" she warned.

"PROOF REAR FACING FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE IS IMPORTANT!!
I write this sitting next to my nearly 2 year old (she is two tomorrow) in her hospital bed finally asleep after yet another rough day. And my almost one year old asleep in her pram at Westmead Children's hospital.
On the 26th February my happy normal world shattered and I woke up to my new nightmare life. Travelling home from a dentist appointment in the middle of the day in Rural NSW our SUV slammed into a tree head on at 100kms p/hr. The impact caused our car to flip forward over its bonnet and onto its roof. At the same time the large tree snapped and landed on top of the car trapping us in it.
When I came to we were upside down in our car Miss 1 and Miss 2 were screaming. We turned to see miss 2 had quite a large laceration on her forehead. She was forward facing at the time of the crash. The aircon control vent above had flown off and hit her in the head. Miss 1 was rearward facing with no visible injuries.
Me and Miss 2 were picked up by Careflight from the crash sight and flown to Westmead. Where our nightmare just got worse. They had discovered she had broken her c2 c3 and tore all her ligaments in her c1. She was one of the youngest to be fitted with a Halo Brace the doctor told us that most children with her injury don't normally make it.
Miss 1 and her dad went via ambulance to another hospital. Miss 1 had no injuries just a small bruise on her shoulder. So as you can see two children in the same car crash restrained properly one with life threatening injuries and the other with non.
I was always unsure about when turning my babies around but after our crash and the hard evidence we are presented with I will forever rearward face my babies as long as I possibly can. Don't make the same mistake as I did. It could cost you your babies life. So far we have been treating her injury for 3mths with no idea of when she will be fully recovered"

INDIA: BIRTH... World's heaviest baby weighing 15 pounds born to an Indian Woman

A 19-year-old lady named Nandini, has given birth to the world's biggest baby, weighing a staggering 15lbs. The baby girl was born through Caesarean section at a government-run hospital in India. She tipped the scales at
twice the size of an average baby, which typically weigh about 7lb 5oz and weighs the same as an average six-month-old.
Reacting to the birth, Dr Poornima Manu, the gynaecologist who delivered the baby said: 'She came as a big surprise for all of us. The surgery took place for nearly half an hour and it was free of any risk. She is really big and beautiful. She does not have any health issues like irregular sugar levels or thyroid and is breathing well. We were initially concerned about her sugar levels but that is normal.

' However, she is being kept at the neonatal intensive care unit and doctors are monitoring her developments before they discharge her.

Her birth overtakes the current record holder, Carisa Rusack, who was born weighing 14lb 5oz in Massachusetts in 2014.

LONDON; CRIME: Nigerian Igho Ejeta wanted by the UK Police in relation to London shooting

Detectives investigating a shooting at a south London barber's shop have today, May 26, released CCTV footage in an effort to find a man they urgently want to speak to.

Officers need to trace 29-year-old Igho Ejeta following the attempted murder of an innocent bystander at the shop in Rotherhithe New Road, SE16 on Friday, 8 May 2015.
Another man is already serving a life sentence for his role in the incident, having been convicted by an Old Bailey jury last year.

Detective Constable Jo Ross, from the Trident and Area Crime Command, said:

"Although we have one man safely behind bars, we urgently need to trace Ejeta in connection with this incident. We would ask anyone with information to come forward in the strictest confidence and help us find this man."

Ejeta is a black man, 5ft 11inches tall, of proportionate build and has a long scar that runs across his face and across the bridge his nose. He was last known to have black cropped Afro hair and has links to Lewisham and the south London area.

Trident launched an investigation after a 38-year-old woman was shot in the leg whilst she was sitting in the barber's shop alongside other customers and children.
The woman was an innocent bystander who was caught up in a violent altercation between several men that began outside the shop. The fight continued inside and Joel Johnson, 27, of Baildon Street, SE8 appeared in the doorway and produced a handgun before opening fire.

The bullet passed through the woman's leg and was later found on the floor. She was taken to a south London hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Officers carried out extensive enquiries to identify Johnson as the gunman.

On 17 June 2015, Johnson was arrested by armed officers on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm. He was taken to a south London police station and was charged with numerous firearms offences. He appeared for trial at the Old Bailey and was found guilty of multiple offences on 14 December 2015.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 14 years for attempted murder, life imprisonment to serve a minimum of seven-and-a-half years for wounding with intent (to run concurrently) and life imprisonment to serve a minimum of six years for possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life (to run concurrently).

Johnson had previously pleaded guilty at the same court in September 2015 to possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. For those offences he was sentenced to seven years and three years' imprisonment to run concurrently.

DISCIPLINE or ABUSE?: Should parents smack their kids? The debate is on

One caller on TV show, This Morning, sparked a firestorm after asking people to share their thoughts on corporal punishment. It faces a proposed UN ban and this has divided opinion.

One caller Elizabeth, felt there is nothing wrong with a smack on the nappy or the hand: 'I just feel now that children have more rights than parents. I see parents being bitten and hit and all the parents do is tell their children not to do it again. But it doesn't work.'
Another caller, Lauren, had a different view, she said: 'I'm against every form of abuse - tapping, smacking everything.

'There are better ways of explaining to your children what they've done wrong.
'I don't think it was OK now and I don't think it was OK back then.
She added: 'Children think that's the way to solve things.
'I couldn't ever smack my child because I would never want to see in their eyes what I felt when I was smacked as a child.

YIKES! Man bitten on penis by 10-foot python while using squat toilet

38-year-old Thai man is recovering from a bloody encounter with a 3-meter (10-foot) python that slithered through the plumbing of his Chachoengsao provine, east of Bangkok home and latched its jaws onto his genitals while he was using a squat toilet.

Attaporn Boonmakchuay is pictured smiling as Thai television stations interviewed him in his hospital bed but photos of his blood-splattered bathroom were testimony to his ordeals.

He told Thai TV Channel 7 that he struggled to remove the snake for 30 minutes Wednesday before he managed to free himself with help from his wife and a neighbour. After his wife tied a rope around the snake, Attaporn pried open its jaws before passing out.

Emergency workers dismantled the Asian-style squat toilet, with the python still twined through it. The snake was taken away to be released back into the wild.

According to an emergency responder cited by the newspaper Thai Rath, doctors said Attaporn, bloodied but unbowed, will recover.
"He has a really good attitude... even though his own wife and children were in shock. He's been smiling and giving interviews all day from his bed," hospital director Dr. Chutima Pincharoen said.

U.S.A: South Carolina Governor signs legislation that bans abortion after 19 weeks

South Carolina has become the latest state in the United States to ban abortion. Republican Gov. Nikki Haley signed the legislation yesterday and the law outlaws all abortions at 20 weeks beyond fertilization unless the mother's life is in jeopardy or a doctor determines the fetus can't survive outside the womb.

Like most similar laws, it contains no exceptions for rape or incest. According to the Bill sponser, Republican Wendy Nanney, she is hopeful the law is a step to eventually get rid of abortion altogether.

Doctors now face up to $10,000 in fines and three years in prison if they are found carrying out an abortion illegally.

ANIMAL ATTACK: U.S.A: Florida woman is left with $203,000 bill after rattlesnake bite

For 56-year-old Cindy Vise, it was just another bright, Sunday morning but something else lay in store as she opened her door. Unknown to her, pigmy rattlesnake was nestled on her comfy doormat and she stepped right on it with predictable consequences.

She was rushed to hospital where she received several doses of antivenin at $20,000 each and doctors kept her overnight for additional tests and observations.

Her daughter Silva said doctors had to make sure 'she wasn't getting blood clots from reaction to the venom'. After the immediate business of saving a life was taken care of, there was a hefty $203, 000 medical bill to see to.

But the family did find a charity that will 'pay up to $36,000' Silva said.
However, that still leaves Vise, who didn't lose her leg and should make a full recovery, stuck with $167,000 left to pay for medical costs.

Silva said that her and her children are taking extra precautions when they walk outside now. Vise and her daughter have set up a GoFundMe account with hopes of getting the cost down.

FOOTBALL: Man U to pay Chelsea millions of pounds for 'Special one' and 'Jose Mourinho' image rights

Manchester United have agreed to pay Chelsea millions of Pounds in order to have image rights to Mourinho's name. Chelsea bought the rights to Jose Mourinho’s name and image in 2005 and continue to sell Jose Mourinho products like mugs, cups, scarfs etc on their website, still earning considerable money from the 11 year old deal.

Jose Mourinho's move to United was supposed to have been completed on Wednesday but the club couldn't come up with an agreement with the Portuguese after it emerged Mourinho's previous advisors sold his 'special one' and 'Jose Mourinho' image rights to Chelsea and if Man U eventually signs up Mourinho they won't be able to use his image for promotion, adverts or any other commercial venture.

Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward wants the rights to Jose Mourinho’s image and that is what has been holding up the deal over the past 48 hours.

Sports lawyer Carol Couse told BBC Sport it was "really unusual" for an individual not to own the trademark to their own name.

"If United had a brand of Mourinho clothing, it would be in breach of the trademark Chelsea currently own," said Couse, of law firm Mills & Reeve.

The former Chelsea manager will become one of the best paid managers in the world when he eventually signs a 3 year deal worth £45m.
It is expected the deal will be completed on Friday.

FOOTBALL: 'Man U lacks identity & it hurts me, I hope they can be special again under Jose Mourinho'- Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has backed Man U's imminent appointment of Jose Mourinho as manager, saying it hurts him to see a club he has so much love for, fall so drastically since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Ronaldo, who won his first Ballon D'or title at Manchester United where he played for six years, says the club in the last 3 years has lost it's identity and hopes Mourinho can bring them back to glorious days.

Speaking to Spanish programme 'Jugones', with quotes published by The Sun, he said: 'He's already signed hasn't he? I think it's good. If it's something United wanted, I think it's good.
'I hope Manchester United get back to being what they were because it's an impressive club but in the last years they lacked an identity a bit.And it hurts me seeing United like that because it's a club I carry in my heart. I wish Mourinho can restore them back to the top.'
Cristiano Ronaldo had a frosty relationship with Jose Mourinho towards the end of Mourinho's Real Madrid career and was angered by his countryman's decision to drop Pepe and Iker Casillas from the starting 11, but now says all that is in the past, saying his greatest quality is not holding grudges against anyone.
'Without any problems I would embrace him. One of my greatest qualities is to not hold grudges at anyone regardless of the damage they may have done to me,' he added.
'I'm not saying he did, I'm saying in general. There were some problems like in life, like you have problems with your wife.'
The three-time Ballon d'Or winner also shot down rumours that he could leave Real Madrid in the near future and committed his long-term future to the Spanish club.
'Right now, yes, I am happy and I want to stay at this club. I don't see any other club that is better than Real Madrid. If you weigh things up, there is no better club. So all other clubs can forget about me because Real Madrid is the best.'
