Minnesota Man Allegedly Killed Wife In Coldblood Then Faked Her Disappearance


Joshua Fury charged with his estranged wife - Maria's murder is accused of strangling her before burying her body in a crawlspace then faking her disappearance to family and friends. Minnesota!

An initial search of the couple's Maple Grove home May 2 by the authority yielded no results but upon interviews with families, investigators learnt Maria was planning to leave her husband for being “controlling and possessive".

This prompted authorities to obtain a search warrant of the couple's home with cadaver dog, who located Maria's decomposing body buried in a crawlspace on the lower level of the building.

Maria's body had a plastic bag duct-taped around her mouth and nose and appeared to have been asphyxiated.

Fury allegedly claimed to be suffering from depression and had previously threatened to commit suicide if Maria tried to leave him.


Prior to his arrest, the 28-year-old allegedly denied hurting his wife, but later he allegedly admitted to strangling her then taping a plastic bag around her mouth and nose to further stop her from breathing.

In a statement, Maria's family addressed the unfortunate incident:
"Maria Pew is a victim of a horrific, unthinkable crime. But we will not allow her to be remembered that way; Maria would hate it if the world saw her as a victim. Maria was so much more".
"In an effort to change the ending of Maria’s story for other women, we ask that you please consider supporting Cornerstone Advocacy Services’ safe housing program. If we can change the outcome for at least one woman, Maria would be so proud and honored," the family added.
Fury faces one count of second-degree murder and is currently being held in Hennepin County Jail on a $2 million bail.
