Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian and his "Jehova's Witness" tennis superstar wife, Serena Williams, decided not to celebrate their daughter, Olympia's 1st birthday (September 1) due to religious beliefs. But a disappointed fan made her disappointment known prompting a reply from Ohanian. PEEP AFTER THE CUT
The fan wrote: 
"it’s so sad that Olympia will not have a BD party"
Ohanian replied:
'I’m not a Witness, but I considered how made up it all is: the purpose of celebrating a birthday is to celebrate life with the people who love you (and to eat cake).'
'This baby is loved and will get to celebrate life with people who love her *plenty* of times, with plenty of parties (and eat cake — in moderation) throughout her life.'
A few followers praised him for his reply saying they agree with his reasoning.

 Serena Williams announced earlier that they will not celebrate Olympia's birthday because of her Jehova's Witness beliefs.
