An overdose outbreak that hit at a New Haven, Connecticut park leaves 76 people ill - unconscious, others vomiting, many of them dropping to the ground across the park apparently like in the movies.
Investigators now believe the drug, K-2 - a synthetic marijuana, is responsible for the New Haven epidemic.
Though the police confirmed the arrest of three suspects believed to be behind the drug being in circulation, the toll of victims rises to 100 at the time of this post.
Most of the overdoses were on the New Haven Green, a historic downtown park near Yale University.
No deaths were reported, but at least two people suffered life-threatening symptoms.
A similar mass overdose occurred on New Haven Green just one month ago, on July 4, when more than a dozen people fell sick from synthetic marijuana.
