Barcelona star, Lionel Messi misses out as Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah grab the top 3 spots on Best FIFA Men's Player award nomiations GENERATING UPROAR from the football community.
Reigning Best FIFA player and former Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, scored 44 times last term with a history 15 strikes in the UEFA Champions League as the LaLiga giants claimed their third consecutive UEFA Champions League under former manager, Zinedine Zidane.
Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, was also very effective in the success at club level to influencing Croatia's run to the World Cup final, finishing as the 1st runner-up. Salah did not enjoy such a productive time in Russia, as Egypt bowed out at the group stage, but swept the board in terms of individual awards in England after a remarkable debut season for Champions League finalists, Liverpool.
Like Ronaldo, Salah netted 44 times across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp's men.
