Real Madrid faced Kashima Antlers, a Japanese team that plays in the J1 League in the Club World Cup final which ended 4-2 after extra-time thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and a well deserved hat-trick from the boot of Portuguese, Cristiano Ronaldo who had been really quiet until about 60 minutes into the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo also won the golden ball - to add to his beautifully decorated career.

Karim Benzema opened the scoring at just 9 minutes into the game handing Real Madrid an early lead until Gaku Shibasaki scored at the 44th minute to cancel Karim Benzema's early goal.
Gaku Shibasaki gave his side - Kashima Antlers the lead after halftime at 52nd minute. A foul on Lucas Vasquez in the box gave Real Madrid a chance to level the scoreline and Cristiano Ronaldo converted it and just like that, it became another Cristiano Ronaldo day as the four-time Ballon d'Or winner went on to score two more goals giving Zinedine Zidane's side the lead they wanted...
