Six people were injured after an erratic gunman opened fire at a strip mall in Houston, Texas on Monday, 26th September, 2016 before he was shot and killed by police.
Richard Mann, Houston Fire Department spokesman, said via twitter that an active shooter at Weslayan & Bissonnet was shot by officers and that there are no reports of other suspects at this time.
Several people have been taken to the hospital but they cannot provide details about how many were shot or the severity of their injuries.
"Several people shot by suspect are being transported to area hospitals; unknown exact number or severity of injuries" he said.
The scene is still active as a bomb squad is searching his vehicles for explosives. The shooter said to be a lawyer was described as white and carrying a revolver. Among his personal effects were camouflage outfits and nazi emblems.
According to Memorial Hermann Hospital, one victim is in critical condition. Residents in the West University apartment complex are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
