confirmed three women initially survived the horrific crash but one succumbed to her injuries Friday night while remaining two remain in very critical condition.
There were 105 passengers including one infant on board the ill-fated Holguin (Cuba) bound flight.
Six crew members all Mexicans also lost their lives.
The 30-year-old Boeing 737-200 belonged to Mexican airline Damojh but was leased to Cubana de Aviacion when it "suffered a failure" and crashed about six miles from the airport.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel was reportedly at the scene of the accident and later offered his condolences to the victims' families expressing to reporters the cause of the crash was under investigation.
A two day mourning, during which flags will fly at half-staff as announced by Cuban State TV.
Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto offered his condolences via Twitter.
Boeing issued a statement of condolence:
"A Boeing technical team stands ready to assist as permitted under US law and at the direction of the US National Transportation Safety Board and Cuban authorities."
