Remains of his estimated 240 kills have been found in a mass grave in Mexico.
Many of them have ended up in 'La Gallera' - the Chicken Coop - in the city of Tijuana near the border with the US.
Court documents reveal Stew Maker in his words; was working on a farm when he was first approached by cartel bosses who asked him to carry out an 'experiment' around 1996.

Stew Maker said the cartel bosses came back few months later with a body for disposal.
"...They called me again and told me that now they were going to experiment with human flesh," Lopez said."
"I'm going to send some guys to train with you."
"In other words, [so] that they learn the job."Stew Maker claimed he told the cartel he didn't want the job but for years he continued to dissolve bodies and trained a few others how to do the same.

After Stew Maker was arrested, families of victims formed organization - pushing for authorities to identify the remains found at 'the Chicken Coop' in the city of Tijuana near the border with the US.
He even built a drainage system where the barrels were emptied.
Experts estimate the remains at the mass grave to be upto 650 people .
Fernando Ocegueda Flores, the President of the United for the Disappeared of Baja California association told reporters:
"These are the those (bodies) we bagged on the last occasion. There are almost complete bodies."
"Of the 16,500 litres of organic material, the Federal Attorney General’s Office said that there could be up to 650 bodies."Stew Maker who has since learned to read and write in prison is yet to be sentenced despite his confessions and all the evidences against him...
