USA: GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY APOLOGIZES FOR SELLING SLAVES TO PAY OFF DEBT

Georgetown University in U.S apologizes for its historical links to slavery most especially the 272 slaves sold to pay off the University's debt sometimes in the 19th century.
The University has offered to give admission edge to descendants of these slaves. that were sold.
It's about time...

The will create an institute to study the history of slavery at the school and it will rename two buildings that had honored presidents who oversaw the 1838 sale of 272 slaves, who had worked on church-affiliated plantations in Maryland.
"This original evil that shaped the early years of the republic was present here," Georgetown President John Degioia told an audience that included descendants of the slaves.

The university will hold a mass of reconcilation "in which we will seek forgiveness for our participation in the institution of slavery, specifically for the sale of 272 children, women and men who we should regard as members of our community."

The steps go further than those taken by other U.S. Universities that are confronting their past association with slavery, including Harvard, Brown, Princeton and the University of North Carolina.

But some criticized as inadequate the decision to give the descendants of the sold slaves the same admissions preference as the children of faculty, staff and alumni.
"We remain hopeful that we can forge a relationship with Georgetown that will lead o 'real' atonment," Karran Harper Royal, an organizer of a group of descendants, said in an email.

She added that the school should have offered scholarships to slaves' descendants and included them on the panel that made the recommendations.

The 18,000-student university will also create a memorial for slaves whose work benefited the school, including those sold to plantations in Louisiana to pay off Georgetown's debts.

Descendants of the slaves will be included in a group advising on the memorial.

The school will rename its Freedom Hall for Isaac, the slave whose name led the list of those to be sold, and Remembrance Hall fo Annie Marie Becraft, a black educator. The buildings  had previously been named after the presidents who gave a pass to sell the slaves.

Students at dozens of U.S Universities protested last fall over the legacy of racism on campus. The protests led to the resignation of the president of the University of Missouri and prompted many schools to review their diversity commitments.
"Georgetown, being a Catholic institution, really can't escape the moral problem of that history because it's come to challenge its Catholic identity," said Craig Stephen Wilder, a history professor at the Massauchusetts Institute of Technology.

A Youtuber who posts under the channel Kamil's View claims he can cure headache in two minutes with just three questions.

In the video Kamil started saying:
"I'm going to ask you a few questions, and I will ask you those questions a few times."
"Every time I ask you the question I really want you to have a look and answer the question."
After instructing the viewer to think about their headache he asks:
"Where is your headache? He then follows this with "What color is it?" and "What shape is it?"
He repeated the questions four times then said: " By now it should be gone."

Many people who have tried it out have testified to its efficacy.

"Most headaches are actually created by you - by your own mind."
He said this could be through "stressing too much" or it may be made up as an excuse to get out of something.

He adds:
"So if you take your attention away from this, the brain gets the message that you're aware of the headache and then you start dissolving it."

GOOD DEED: A LIBRARIAN LEAVES $4 MILLION FOR SCHOOL HE WORKED AT FOR 50 YEARS

Robert Morin, the unexpected benefactor who was an alumnus and also worked as a librarian at the University of New Hampshire for almost 50 years left a sum of $4 million to the institution.
Morin died last year at the age of 77 was known to live simply and amassed his wealth through the stock market but kept his job as a janitor until his death.

His alma mater UNH released a statement about his donation to the institute upon his demise:

"Bob's demonstrated commitment to UNH through his philanthropy is tremendously inspiring" President Mark Huddleston said in a statement.
"His generous gift allows us to address a number of university priorities... We are committed to providing the resources needed to ensure every student achieves professional success and Bob's gift will play a major role in that effort."
"You'd never know the man was a millionaire," said his lawyer, Laurie Rowell. "The last time he came here, he parked far away in a spot where there were no meters so he could save the coins." Morin was described as keeping to himself with his financial advisor telling the Union-Leader that his client "never went out." But he did have a love for all movies and books.
Huddleston said that from 1979 to 1997, Morin watched more than 22,000 videos. He then decided he wanted to read every book published in the U.S from 1930 to 1940 - excluding children's books, textbooks, and books about cooking and technology - in chronological order Morin had reached 1938, the year of his birth, at the time of his death.

Of his gift, $100,000 was specifically, dedicated to an area of the school: the Dimond Library. The money will be used to "provide scholarships for work-study students, support staff members who continue their studies in library science, renovate and upgrade one of the library's multimedia rooms."
As for the rest of Morin's unrestricted gift, $1 million will go toward a video scoreboard at the school's new football stadium and another $2.5 million will help establish a career center for students and alumni on campus. Huddlestone said.

[VIDEO]: FOOTBALL: A FIELD INVADER BREACHED SECURITY TO KISS LIONLE MESSI'S FOOT DURING ARGENTINA VS URUGUAY

FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi who announced his retirement from international football after his Argentine side lost the Copa America Centenario USA 2016 to Chile for the second time consecutively marked his return to International football by scoring the only goal of the night in a match against Uruguay.
Good to see Messi back with the Argentine squad.

Argentina were reduced to ten men on pitch after Paulo Dybala was sent off on his second booking of the night while a few of Uruguay's players including PSG's Edison Cavani also got booked.

Players from both teams got a couple of bookings but the craziest moment of the night was when a field invader ran to Lionel Messi, knelt before him and kissed his foot before he was escorted off by the security...

PARALYMPIC ATHLETES BARE IT ALL IN NEW AD-CAMPAIGN AGAINST STEREOTYPE AHEAD OF RIO 2016 PARALYMPICS

These paralympic athletes in a bid against stereotype before, during and after the Rio 2016 Paralympics went completely nude to create awareness for the beauty of sport irrespective of the performer and also to create awareness for handicapped individuals worldwide...
The Paralympics event at Rio, Brazil starts next week.

Tennis ace Jordanne Whiley, 24, of Halesowen, West Mids said to Sport Magazine:

"I wanted to show people you can do beautiful shoots without being a tall model."
"That's quite obvious. I'm short, I'm disabled and I'm nowhere near perfection. But I'm very comfortable in my skin."
"I'm healthy and I think that's what women should strive for - athletes are great role models. Role models should be real people, too. I'm flawed, I'm a normal person."
Power-lifter Ali Jawad, 27, representing Team Great Britain said to the magazine:
"The emphasis in my event is on bench press. It's an all-body movement, so you need all-around strength. Not having legs means it's twice as hard because I don't have that plant on the floor."
"My core has to be stronger than the average person, and my back has to be strong to support my weight. My best bench is 202kg, which is almost three and a half times my body weight of 58kg. If I hit that Rio, I'll be looking at a medal."

The magazine will feature a nude image of sportperson each week over the duration of the Rio 2016 Paralympics.

[PHOTOS/VIDEO]: YOU'LL BE SURPRISED WHAT THIS KID DID WHEN GIVEN A 'MORAL TEST' BY HIS PSYCHOLOGIST DAD

A psychology professor at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, E.J. Masicampo decided to give his son Nicholas a 'moral test' when he saw the toddler playing with a train set to know his moral standing.
I can tell you the lad made a very rare decision... he made his (Nicholas') mission easy.
I'll tell you why at the end of this post.
And the comments on the video are absolutely hilarious.

In the video, Nicholas sat next to his wooden train track, which is split into two forks, on one side lay one toy-person, while on the other are five toy-persons. E.J then asked his son which way the train should go, whether kill one life or five lives, but no one expected the little boy to answer like he did.

The little boy removed the one toy-person on the left rail line and put it alongside the other five toys on the right rail line. Then ran the train over all of them.

On his Youtube account, the professor captioned his post;
'I'm teaching a moral psychology class this semester, and we spent part of the first day discussing the trolley problem, which is a frequently used ethical dilemma in discussions of morality. When I returned home that night and was playing trains with my son, I thought it would be interesting to see his response to the trolley problem.'
'I recorded his response so that I could share and discuss it with my class, given especially that we also will be discussing moral development from birth onward. My wife and I are constantly talking with our son about how properly to treat others -- so this has been teachable moment both for my class and for our son!'

ISIS BANS IN FOOTBALL REFEREES IN SYRIA BECAUSE THEY DON'T ENFORCE SHARIA LAW

ISIS has banned the use of referees during football matches in Syria because they (referees) enforces FIFA rules not Sharia Law.
According to ISIS commanders, football referees will not be allowed at local football matches because their rulings " do not judge according to what Allah has revealed"

The Islamic Terrorist Organization perceives the rules of international football to be "illegitimate" and
has however modified the rules detailing especially how injured players should/can be compensated under Sharia law.

The new rules introduced by ISIS also permit injured players to seek justice (REVENGE)

A player told SOHR:
"We're lucky because the football we play does not run using FIFA's name - then the organisation (ISIS) would have stopped games once and for all and not just refereeing"
Smoking, satellite dishes, dancing, watching foreign television and private internet access have also all been banned by the organization and anyone who disobeys will be punished by either, flogging, shooting, stoning, beheading or burning.

THE ROMANIAN HACKER WHO EXPOSED HILLARY CLINTON SENTENCED TO 52 MONTHS IN PRISON

Romanian hacker Marcel Lazar, 44 a.k.a "GUCCIFER" who was arrested in Romanian in 2014 has been handed a 52 months sentence in a U.S prison. He was sentenced by a federal court in Alexandria, Virginia.

He (Lazar) pleaded guilty to some of the charges levied against him in May after he was extradited from Romania.

Lazar confessed to breaching Clinton's private server at her home in Chappaqua, New York but law enforcement and national security officials say that claim is meritless.

Lazar is reported to have hacked about 100 people between 2012 to 2014. His victims include a number of political figures.

Clinton, the Presidential candidate for the Democrats for the November 8 2016 U.S Presidential election has come under heavy scrutiny by conspiracy theorists, anti-Clinton indiviuals and especially her political opponents Donald Trump, the Republicans who are questioning/doubting her honesty if elected.

Another entity called "Guccifer 2.0" claiming to be a Romanian hacker emerged in June and began taking credit for data breaches at the Democratic National Committee and Democratic Congress Campaign Committee but the cyber security experts believe "Guccifer 2.0" is a front for Russian intelligence services intended to spread confusion about the hacks against the Democratic Party.

The problem for Kim, 63 began for sitting in a disrespectful/bad position during a session of North Korea's parliament, which led to his arrest and interrogation.
