FOOTBALL: I believe in Super Eagles, goals will rain against Egypt - NFF President says

The Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick says he believes Super Eagles will come out victorious in the first leg must win clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt in Kaduna this weekend.

There is a high air of optimism in the Eagles' camp and the NFF supremo feels English premier league trio Alex Iwobi, Odion Ighalo and Mikel Obi will help Nigeria defeat Egypt, a fact even the Egyptians know.

"Our boys are in the best form for the Egypt game, and if they reproduces such form in Kaduna on Friday, goals will rain against the visitors. Already, some of the players have called to reassure us that they would show no mercy against Egypt and I believe them. We are not taking any chances against the Pharaohs," Pinnick states in chat with Completesportsnigeria.com.

"With the form of Iwobi , Mikel, Odion and other players in England and other leagues of Europe, Egypt know they are in real trouble and will not escape defeat in Kaduna. What we are praying for is that our foreign based players give the game their best and win the first leg before going for the final kill in the second leg duel, They (Egypt), might also boast of the form of Salah and Elneny, but we have better quality players whose experience will get us this much needed victory. The boys are self motivated to beating the Pharaohs and the NFF on our part will give them all the necessary support and logistics to win."

NIGERIA: Electricity in Nigeria no longer a laughing matter- Buhari

President Buhari says that the poor power situation in Nigeria is no longer a laughing matter. Buhari said this while declaring open the National Economic Council retreat in Abuja yesterday March 21st.

“Nigerians’ favourite talking point and butt of jokes is the power situation in our country. But, ladies and gentlemen, it is no longer a laughing matter. We must and by the grace of God we will put things right. In the three years left for this administration we have given ourselves the target of ten thousand megawatts distributable power.
In 2016 alone, we intend to add two thousand megawatts to the national grid. This sector has been privatized but has yet to show any improvement in the quality of service. Common public complaints are: Constant power cuts destroying economic activity and affecting quality of life, High electricity bills despite power cuts, Low supply of gas to power plants due to vandalization by terrorists, Obsolete power distribution equipment such as transformers, Power fluctuations, which damage manufacturing equipment and household appliances, Low voltage which cannot run industrial machinery. These are some of the problems, which defied successive governments. In our determination to change we must and will, insha Allah, put a stop to power shortages. Key points to look at here are: Privatization. We are facing the classic dilemma of privatization: Public interest Vs Profit Motive. Having started, we must complete the process. But National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the regulatory authority, has a vital job to ensure consumers get value for money and over-all public interest is safe-guarded"he said

BREAKING NEWS: Explosions rocks Brussels Airport, Belgium!

At least one person has been confirmed dead after multiple explosions rocked the departure hall of the Zaventem airport in Brussels, Belgium this morning. According to Reuters, the explosions occurred close to the American Airlines Check-in desk. Gunshots were fired while some Islamic words were heard before the explosions took place. Texas man convicted and sentenced to life for infecting 23 month-old niece with HIV and impregnating Teen

A 33-year-old Houston man was sentenced to life after he infected his 23 month old niece with HIV. David Wilson was found guilty of super aggravated sex assault of his 23 month old niece in a Houston court on Thursday, March 17. The enhanced charge is because of the age of the victims.
Wilson, a former sex offender was previously found guilty of the sexual assault of a child in 2005 and sentenced to four years in prison. He was released six years later.

A court document states that he sexually assaulted his niece in 2015. The toddler's parents are said to have lived out of state, had drug problems and sent their daughter to live with family in Houston. The child is the daughter of Wilson's sister.

 

Last November, the toddler was taken to a doctor, where she was diagnosed with HIV, genital herpes and chlamydia. Reconstructive surgery was performed because of infection to her private parts. A doctor told investigators that she had to have been sexually abused because of the sexually transmitted diseases that were detected.

Four people in the home where the child lived were tested. Only one tested positive for HIV. It was David R. Wilson. It's unclear why Wilson was not arrested at the time.

Another victim, a 14-year-old girl spoke to the Children's Assessment Center, and told a caseworker she had been having sex with a man for two years. She identified the man as David R. Wilson and said she was pregnant. An exam of the girl showed that she was HIV positive, had herpes and chlamydia.

 

Wilson was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for both assaults and for the infection.

FOOTBALL: Arsenal want Mourinho(RUMOURS)

Arsenal are looking to take advantage of hesitation from Manchester United and appoint Jose Mourinho as Arsene Wenger's replacement for the start of next season, according to Fichajes.
The United hierarchy are undecided on Louis van Gaal's future, with inconsistent results and uncertainty over Champions League qualification coming alongside the successful blooding of youngsters.
Mourinho's appointment, it is assumed, would see academy graduates once again see their chances restricted in favour of more heavy summer first-team investment, while Ryan Giggs continues to wait for the hot seat.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are growing impatient at the continued underachievement under Wenger, with Arsenal again set to miss out on the Premier League title despite City, United and Chelsea all underperforming.
With Mourinho recently claiming he will be returning to a managerial position in July, United now have a strong rival for the Portuguese's signature.

ANTI-TRUMP: Demonstrators Block Road To Donald Trump Rally In Arizona

Protesters on Saturday blocked the roads leading to a Donald Trump rally in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

Video from NBC’s Jacob Rascon showed one driver confronting protesters and screaming at them to get off the road.

Another driver tried to ram through the protesters.

Some of the demonstrators had tied themselves to their cars, making it harder for law enforcement to tow the vehicles.

Lewis Monroy told The Huffington Post that he had been stuck in traffic for almost two hours and said he saw two protesters arrested. Both people were chained to cars, and law enforcement cut the cables and arrested them so they could tow the vehicles, he said. Video shows officers carrying a protester away.

An ABC 15 anchor reported at least three people had been arrested in connection with the protests. Deputy Joaquin Enriquez, a spokesman for the Maricopa County sheriff’s office, told ABC 15 the arrests were for blocking the road, not protesting.

The roadblock didn’t stop some determined people from getting out of their cars and walking to Trump’s rally. 

Tomas Robles, executive director of Living United for Change in Arizona, a workers’ rights organization, told HuffPost that law enforcement was cooperative and treated protesters fairly. He said some Trump supporters “did try to get get aggressive,” but they were not violent. 

“It was a peaceful protest, we got our point across, and we showed the nation and our state that just because Arizona at a time has been seen as anti-immigrant and somewhat racist, this is not that state anymore,” he said. “We’re not going to allow people like Trump to spew that rhetoric.” 

 

Reports of arrests and violence at Trump rallies have become commonplace. At least 52 people were arrested or cited in connection with Trump events from Feb. 29 to March 14, according to a HuffPost survey of police departments. News reports and police reports for the same period show there were at least 20 incidents of physical violence at Trump events.

“We don’t want Donald Trump in Arizona, we don’t want his hatred,” one protester told Rascon.
