U.N. Security Council condemns Iranian attacks on the Saudi Arabian embassy

The United Nations Security Council has condemned Iranian attacks on the SaudiArabian embassy after Saudi Arabia angered the Iranian government by executing a Shiite cleric some days back.
Demonstrators in Iran descended upon the Saudi embassy in Tehran and the consulate in Mashhad.  and set it on fire after Riyadh executed 47 men including Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr.

This resulted in the Saudis cutting diplomatic relations with Iran, suspending all flights to and from Iran. Several countries like the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and Sudan have withdrawn diplomatic relations from Iran as a sign of support to Saudi Arabia.

The statement by the 15-member U.N Security council, which called on Iran to protect diplomatic personnel and property, made no mention of the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.
The statement read in part:
“The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Tehran, and its Consulate General in Mashhad in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in intrusions into the diplomatic and consular premises, causing serious damage,” said the council statement.U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry reached out to both the Saudi and Iranian foreign ministers to calm tensions.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest echoed those sentiments.
"We are urging all sides to show some restraint and to not further inflame tensions that are on quite vivid display in the region," he said Monday in a briefing with reporters.

DENMARK!!!!!!!!!!: Facebook blocks a photo of iconic little Mermaid statue, says it has 'sexual undertones'

A Danish member of parliament tried to share a photo of Copenhagen’s iconic Little Mermaid statue on Facebook but received a rejection notification saying it could not be published because of rules on nudity. The rejection message shared by MP Mette Gjerskov on Facebook, which has now gone viral, says, "The image contained too much bare skin or sexual undertones".

Facebook also added that the rules applied for images which have ‘artistic or educational’ purpose. However, it later relented and approved the image.

The social media giant had clarified its stand on nudity and its community standards in general on March 15, 2015.

"We remove photographs of people displaying genitals or focusing in on fully exposed buttocks. We also restrict some images of female breasts if they include the nipple, but we always allow photos of women actively engaged in breastfeeding or showing breasts with post-mastectomy scarring. We also allow photographs of paintings, sculptures and other art that depicts nude figures," it said.

Facebook said that its harsh stand "can sometimes be more blunt than we would like and restrict content shared for legitimate purposes". But from time to time it has encountered problems over legitimate posts.
