White People Meet founder Sam Russell claims he isn’t racist for starting the dating site because he dated a Black woman once a long azz time ago. Oh.

Sam Russell suspected his dating startup, Where White People Meet, would ruffle a few Internet feathers. It’s why the site’s “About” page carefully avoids mention of Russell or his wife, Jodie, and why their address is listed as a P.O. box in Dallas.
But 53-year-old Russell — the former owner of a used-car empire and the resident of a Zip code that is 92.4 percent white — swears he isn’t afraid of the backlash to his brand-new dating site.
“It’s about equal opportunity,” Russell explained. “The last thing in the world I am is racist. I dated a black woman once. I helped raise a young black man … I just believe it’s hypocrisy to say ‘one group can do this, but another can’t.’”
This is Russell’s first foray into the online dating industry; he’s spent most of his career in auto sales, as the president of the since-franchised chain Automatic Car Credit Inc. (He still owns the chain’s location in Layton, Utah, in an office that now doubles as the listed HQ for White People Meet.) Out sick from work one day last year, he found himself marveling at the number of Black People Meet ads airing on daytime TV. He and his wife, who technically owns the dating site, quickly became convinced both that online dating was a good pre-retirement business endeavor … and that white people faced a dearth of online dating opportunities.

Florida Man Leaves Bacon At The Front Door Of Mosque

Detectives arrested an ain’t isht Florida man earlier this week, accusing him vandalizing a mosque here and placing bacon in its front door according to USA Today reports:

Evidence indicated that Michael Scott Wolfe, 35, entered the carport of the Islamic Society of Central Florida Masjid Al-Munin at around 11 p.m. ET New Year’s Day, Titusville police said.
He is accused of slashing his way through the mosque, shattering lights, windows and cameras with a machete. Wolfe was charged with criminal mischief to a mosque, a third-degree felony.
Wolfe is being held Brevard County Jail on a $2,000 bail. He is expected to appear before a judge Tuesday.
Before the arrest, the leader of the mosque said the vandalism was not typical of this area that Muslims call home.
“You can’t help but feel this is a hateful act (because of) all of the negative media, the politicians who want to ban Muslims, close mosques,” said Muhammad Musri, who is based in the Orlando area and who oversees a network of 10 mosques as part of the Islamic Society of Central Brevard. “Messages like that motivate people who have an illness in their heart.”
Musri, who in public comments has called on Muslims to build stronger ties with the communities they live in, was at the Titusville mosque overseeing its cleanup.
“We’ve been in this community for so many years. This is a great community and this act is not typical of the good people or the city,” he said. “So I am hopeful. Over 40 years that we’ve been here, we’ve never seen anything like this.”
Eating pork — including bacon and ham — is prohibited in the Quran. The Bible’s Old Testament books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy also forbid it.
Civil-rights advocates are calling on state and federal authorities to investigate.

MURDER IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK USA.

A teenage girl is being questioned over the murders of her mum and mother's boyfriend after their decomposing bodies were found at their home, it was reported. The remains of Rosie Sanchez, 38, and Anderson Nunez, 40, were discovered at their Brooklyn apartment around 8pm on Sunday.

Sanchez's 15-year-old daughter is being quizzed by police after allegedly confessing to a cousin that she killed them because her mum's boyfriend repeatedly raped her, police said.
The cousin is believed to have called police, who found the decomposing bodies after conducting a welfare check, Pix11 reported.
Sanchez was found dead in a bedroom chair while the body of Nunez was discovered on the kitchen floor.

Both had been stabbed repeatedly, a police source said. A knife was also found in the kitchen, the Daily News reported.
A shell casing is also believed to have been found at the scene in Sheepshead Bay Houses apartment on Batchelder St.

According to the Daily News, the teenager allegedly confessed to killing the pair on December 27. She allegedly accused her mother of ignoring her claims that Nunez had repeatedly raped her, the paper reported.

The girl reportedly went to stay with her father for a few days following the incident, before staying with her cousin.

She allegedly confessed after her cousin became concerned that she hadn't heard from Sanchez for several days.
The teenager was taken into custody and is being questioned by police, the Daily News reported.
