Bodies of former playboy model, Stephanie Nicolai and her 7-year-old son, Vincent, were found on the second-floor balcony of the Gotham Hotel, New York.
Unconfirmed reports suggest murder-suicide as the 47-year-old model was involved in a custody battle with her estranged husband.
The bodies were discovered after a 911 call about an unconscious woman and child at the 25-story boutique hotel on East 46th Street.
Preliminary investigation rules Nicolai's death as suicide, the law enforcement said. Also revealing that they are not certain about the nature of her fall which could be from the hotel's penthouse where she was residing or any other floor.
New York divorce lawyer Raoul Felder who represented Nicolai in the custody battle until about four months ago said he hadn't heard from her in two or three months, said she wanted to travel to Spain with her son.
"I said in the middle of a divorce case, you just can't do that," he said.
