Police showed up and arrested the burglar for breaking and entering.
Jonathen decided to to film the burglar in a bid to protect himself, when the police shows up, feared they would shoot a "black man sitting on a white guy".

One of his scared children pleaded with him not to let the man go as they wait for the police.

Jonathen can be heard telling the man:
"Only an idiot tries to break into a boxer's crib."
"I could have killed you, you know that? I could have killed you by law."
"I haven't done a motherf***ing thing wrong. I caught him trying to intrude, well he did intrude."
"You walked in my crib, you grabbed my daughter."

Speaking to Click Detroit the next day, Jonathen said his teenage daughter was frantic, when she called out to him.

He said:
"She told me a person had got into the house."
"I instantly punched him, and he was out cold."
"My heart's racing because I don't know if he has a knife."
"I don't know if he has a gun. I don't know what he has, but I'm going to protect my family."
He added that he decided to film the encounter so "if anything happened, everyone would clearly see this is not my fault".

Jacob Cruz, 32, was charged with breaking and entering.

He has since appeared at court, sporting a black eye, and pleaded not guilty.
