A Southwest Airlines passenger flight had an engine explosion midflight, shattering one window causing the woman sitting next to it to be nearly sucked out but was saved by fellow passengers who held down for about thirteen minutes until the plane landed. National Transport Safety Bureau Chairman, Robert Sumwalt confirmed the sad occurrence.  The flight from New York to Dallas made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport at 11.27am where all the passengers were medically examined confirming one dead and seven others sustained minor injuries.
