NIGERIA: ONDO STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION DILEMMA

The closest hint was to say God will choose his successor. That was in February. More than two months after, Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, is at sea as to who his successor should be. The governorship poll holds on November 26. He is in his second tenure which ends on February 23, 2017.
YOU MEAN HE HASN'T FOUND SOMEONE HE TRUSTS NOT TO SEND THE EFCC AFTER HIM

Investigations revealed that the governor is still seeking for the most suitable out of his aides. That, it was learnt, is why most of the contestants who have indicated interests are members of his cabinet. The governor, according to investigations, has asked those of them closet to him to throw their hats into the contest.
Some of those in the race from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) include: Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Eyitayo Jegede;  Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bamiduro Dada, his Ministry of Environment counterpart, Chief Sola Ebisemi and former Director General of the National Sports Commission(NSC), Gbenga Elegbeleye.
There is also the former Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta, Kingsley Kuku whose ambition has however suffered serious setbacks following his troubles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Kuku, whose structure was well-oiled, has since faded into oblivion since he left for the United States of America purportedly for medical attention.
There are reports that a Public Relations consultant, Tokunbo Modupe, who is extremely close to Mimiko is also in the race.
For sure, Mimiko, like every other governor, is keenly interested in installing his successor. He is however in serious dilemma as to who to support to win the contest. His biggest concern is the All Progressives Congress (APC), which appears to have ceded the slot to Ondo North.
Should the opposition party carry through this strategy, it will constitute a big challenge to the PDP’s run for the Agbalaka Government House. This is because most of its candidates are from Ondo Central and South. The APC however parades a galaxy of prominent contestants from Ondo North with the hope of playing on the agitation for power shift to ride to the governorship seat.
Sources say Mimiko is very disposed to Jegede succeeding him. Jegede is one of the longest serving cabinet members, having been a commissioner since 2009. The Akure-born lawyer is close to the governor. He is hugely popular in Akure and is riding on the sentiment that Akure is the only zone from the Old division yet to produce a governor.
But he is from the same senatorial zone with Mimiko. The governor is wondering if voters will accept someone from the same zone after his eight-year reign.
Ebiseni is from the Ondo South. The lawyer was a former chairman of the old Ilaje/Ese-Odo Local Government Area. The Commissioner for Environment, Ebiseni commands tremendous influence among political stakeholders in the state.
A grassroots politician with a deep knowledge of the politics of the state, Ebiseni also has the financial wherewithal to run the race. But the agitation for power shift does not favour him.
Modupe is chairman of TPT International. But the close pal of Mimiko is mostly in Akure these days reportedly to fine tune strategies on his governorship ambition. He has also taken up a chieftaincy title in addition to building a palatial mansion on a six-acre in Akure for more space on political meetings.
The Owo-born is favoured by power shift agitation. But he will be a hard sell to politicians in the state because he has been a party man. Sources close to Mimiko say he is bidding his time to see where the APC will move to know which of his preferred candidates to finally unveil for the contest.

RACE MATTERS: NYPD Refused To Arrest White Trump Hotel Exec Who Allegedly Assaulted Black Mom In Front Of Her Kids

Nathan Crisp, 34, has been charged with assault after allegedly twice throwing 27-year-old Sheneik
McCallum to the ground in front of her children during a row over her parking on Easter Sunday.
Rather than being booked in at a police station, he was given a desk ticket and sent on his way ahead of a court appearance on May 2 – something McCallum says is ‘disrespectful’.

Speaking to the press Thursday, she said, ‘You know, to get a desk appearance ticket after you slam me to the floor… he could have broke my back, I could have been dead in front of my own two kids.
‘I feel like it’s unreasonable and it’s disrespectful. That’s all I have to say.’
Crisp – whose now deleted LinkedIn page says he is vice president of revenue management and distribution at Trump Hotels – is accused of flying into a rage after Ms McCallum pulled over outside his building to check her baby was secured in its car seat.
Ms McCallum said she pulled over outside the affluent Brooklyn apartment block to check on her child when Crisp shouted at her to get off the private property, where condos cost up to $6,000 a month.
He is claimed to have blocked in the young mother’s car with his own vehicle before attacking her, community advocate Tony Herbert told the New York Daily News.
Police say Crisp threw her to the ground twice during the heated exchange on Sunday. Crisp furiously denied the allegations, saying: ‘I am totally innocent of all charges and look forward to defending this matter in court at which time I am confident that I will be fully vindicated.
I don't see/read all these fake A** celebrities boycotting these racist organisations... Immigrant Donald Trump has made known how much hate/racism there is in U.S.A...

BOXING: Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Oluwafemi is the IBF heavyweight champion of the world!

British boxer Anthony Joshua won the IBF world heavyweight title on Saturday with a sensational second round knockout of American rival. Charles Martin.

Taking to his twitter account after the victory, the new champion wrote:
"An unforgettable night!"

Olympic champion Joshua, 26, had Martin on the canvas twice in the second round to record his 16th knockout in all 16 professional fights he has contested.

Joshua becomes the sixth British fighter to win a world heavyweight title.

"There 'll probably be some negativity about how easy it is. But two days ago Charles Martin was a big, dangerous southpaw and he had the confidence to come over here and fight in the lion's den," said the new champion.

"All the hype is good for boxing, let's keep on pushing this sport. Keep on supporting us because it won't last forever."

Joshua needed only one minute and 32 seconds of the second round to end the defence of the American who was widely jeered when he entered the ring wearing a crown and velvet robes.

It was a fast and powerful right hand which delivered the final blow as Martin was left clearly dazed. He was up on his feet but off them again soon after, with the hapless American failing to make the count.

"I've got people like David Haye and Tyson Fury calling me out so I need to keep improving. Every fight gets better and better. I want to give value for money and I appreciate the ongoing support of the fans," added Joshua.

Men on Tinder believe they are entitled to casual sex as compensation if their date is not as pretty as her photos

The British Sociological Association's annual conference report that men on the dating app Tinder believe they have a 'licence to use women as they see fit', for compensation if their date's appearance isn't as pretty as their profile pictures.
They say that entitles them to casual sex twith their dates to make up for the so-called 'breach of trust', experts found.

Dr Jenny van Hooff, senior lecturer in sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University, said: 'Many of our respondents felt let down on meeting a woman and on feeling a visual representation hadn't been accurate.
'Some of our respondents felt that this breaking of trust was a licence to use their date as they saw fit, thereby speeding up intimacy and undermining it at the same time.'
Among the comments researchers received from men using the app were:

  • A 29-year-old man said: 'I've been very misled by very selective pictures, angles when the person isn't as attractive or as slim or sporty as they make out on pictures. I try to swerve if possible, or get something out of it.'
  • One 37-year-old man said: ''I am looking for a long term relationship, but you know within seconds of meeting someone whether that's going to happen. So now, I think if there's a chance of a shag I'll take it. Lots of girls put 'no one-night stands' on their profiles, but they still end up having them. Tinder has really toughened me up.'
  • A 34-year-old told researchers: 'What I will say is that it is natural for human beings to take advantage of each other, and Tinder hasn't changed this, but it has made it easier.'
  • One 36-year-old man said: 'It's Tinder - I would say your chances of getting sex go up if a girl's lied on her profile.'
  • A 38-year-old man said: 'I went to meet her in a bar in the Northern Quarter and I could see that she was really fat. If it had been the kind of bar where I could have left without her seeing me, I would have done, but I was stuck there.' They ended the evening by having a one-night stand.
The researchers found that Tinder and other dating apps had 'commodified' relationships at the same time as making them more available.
This could be liberating for men, but also make them feel vulnerable about how attractive and successful they were with women.
