TERROR ATTACK: Turkey police HQ hit by deadly bomb blast

A woman and a baby are reported to be among the dead. Rescuers are searching through the rubble at the scene in Cinar district, Diyarbakir province.
The bomb was detonated at the entrance of the police complex, officials say. The blast also damaged nearby residential buildings.

The attackers then reportedly fired rockets at the headquarters.
Diyarbakir province has seen violent clashes between PKK separatists and the Turkish army in recent months.
Last year, the city of Diyarbakir and a number of other areas in the south-east were put under curfew as part of a security crackdown.

This followed a bomb blast that left 16 soldiers dead and a rebel ambush that killed 14 police officers - both incidents in the east.
A ceasefire between the army and the PKK collapsed in July, and Turkish jets have since bombed PKK bases in northern Iraq and the army launched a ground operation there.
Turkey is also part of a US-led coalition that has been carrying out air strikes against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria.
However, Ankara has been accused of hitting mostly PKK targets, angering Kurds who are themselves fighting IS in the two countries.

Officials blamed the blast on Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) militants, who are active in the mainly Kurdish province.
No group has so far said it carried out the attack.

TERROR ATTACK: Blasts, gunfight in Indonesian capital; at least 6 dead

Militants launched a gun and bomb assault killing at least six people in the center of the Indonesian capital on Thursday, police said, in an attack that followed a threat by Islamic State fighters to put the country in their "spotlight."
Media said six bombs went off and a Reuters witness saw three dead people and a gunfight going on. One blast was in a Starbucks cafe and security forces were later seen entering the building.

Police said they suspected a suicide bomber was responsible for at least one of the blasts and up to 14 militant gunmen were involved in the attack, Metro TV reported.
"The Starbucks cafe windows are blown out. I see three dead people on the road. There has been a lull in the shooting but someone is on the roof of the building and police are aiming their guns at him," said a Reuters photographer.
Indonesia has been on edge in recent weeks over the threat posed by Islamist militants and counter-terrorism police have launched a crackdown on people with suspected links to Islamic State.
"We have previously received a threat from Islamic State that Indonesia will be the spotlight," police spokesman Anton Charliyan told reporters. But he said police did not know who was resposible.

He said three policemen and three civilians had been killed.
"I saw a police officer shot right in front of me," one witness told TV One.
One explosion went off in front of a shopping center called the Sarinah mall, on a main avenue. Media said a police post outside the mall was blown up.
Police snipers were deployed among hundreds of other security officers.

A U.N. building near the scene was in lock-down with no one allowed in or out, a witness said. Some other high-rise buildings in the area were evacuated.
Indonesia's central bank is located in the same area, and a spokesman for the bank said a policy meeting was going ahead and a decision on interest rates would be announced as planned later in the day.

An explosion was heard in the western suburb of Palmerah, according to a domestic media tweet, but police said they could not confirm a blast there.
Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, the vast majority of whom practice a moderate form of the religion.

The country saw a spate of militant attacks in the 2000s, the deadliest of which was a nightclub bombing on the holiday island of Bali that killed 202 people, most of them tourists.

Police have been largely successful in destroying domestic militant cells since then, but officials have more recently been worrying about a resurgence inspired by groups such as Islamic State and Indonesians who return after fighting with the group.

The last major militant attacks in Jakarta were in July 2009, with bombs at the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels.

REALLY SAD: 21-year-old girl brutally beaten, raped & mutilated for being a lesbian

On Wednesday, January 13, LGBTI members took to the street to protest the senseless killing of Pasca. 21-year-old openly gay Matshidiso Pasca Melamu was brutally beaten and mutilated; a gruesome murder which has left her family, cops and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) community reeling in shock.

Pasca died before she could find out that she had passed her matric exam. Holding Pasca’s statement of results and a framed portrait, her mum Betty, 38 (pictured) said she was devastated by the loss of her child.

The LGBTI members, joined by several political groups, took to the streets of Evaton, south of Joburg. The march started at the local filling station just a few metres away from Pasca’s home. They wanted to raise awareness and demand the immediate arrest of her killers.

Vaal LGBTI spokeswoman Kegomodicoe Mocoancoeng said Pasca’s murder was a hate crime which should embarrass the areas and the nation as a whole.

"It was a brutal murder because she was raped, mutilated and her body was also burned. This a clear indication that some members of society are not willing to accept us and yet they know of our existence. We want to see change because Pasca’s killers are still roaming the streets," she said.

Betty said Pasca left home on 16 December and never came back.
"Four days later, we heard rumours about a girl who had been found murdered in Lakeside," she said

The family called a local radio station where they were given a description of the dead woman.

"We were told a girl with a tattoo on her leg and a gold tooth had been killed. We immediately knew it was our Pasca. We still can’t believe she’s gone. Who could do such a horrible thing to my child?" the heartbroken mother asked.

ORGASM: Taking Female Orgasm to the Next Level

"Yeah, that's it! Mmmm . . . that's GOOD!"
My computer is talking to me, whispering words of encouragement as I trace big circles with my finger on my trackpad. My cursor grazes over the vulva of the woman lying before me onscreen.
Her name is Amber. Amber likes a circular stroke on the upper right corner of her vulva next to her clitoris.
I've just finished watching a video where she demonstrates the technique on herself. And now the program has loaded an "interactive" module, for me to try it on her.
Tentatively, not knowing quite what to expect, I click "Begin."

Amber's vulva, freshly shaved and beautifully lit, appears on the screen. A delicate white arrow traces a circle in the exact spot where I'm supposed to start. Hesitating at first, I press the trackpad, and a cursor appears on Amber's vulva. As we approach Amber's clitoris the image morphs a bit, and her clitoral hood stretches towards my cursor.
We are suddenly connected -- her vulva and my finger.
Doing my best to replicate Amber's preferred technique, I start circling. At first, nothing happens. I keep making counter-clockwise circles, watching as the skin of her vulva moves under the pressure of my touch. Suddenly I hear her voice, speaking to me --
"Mmmm . . . a little slower . . . that's nice!"
Then a few moments later . . .
"Mmm . . . I'm close! Stop for just a second! Whew!"
Adult Sex Ed for the 21st Century
I'm a sex therapist, and I've been invited to test out a new interactive computer system, OMGYes, -- the latest thing in sex education for adults. On OMGYes, a woman wishing to enhance her orgasm can sample a wide variety of masturbation techniques -- some of them quite innovative. I hear the system works well on an iPad too, but I don't have one available at the moment.
Amber and I are practicing a technique known as "Edging," which means getting to the edge of an orgasm, then stepping back for a moment, so the next trip to the edge will be more intense. To illustrate "Edging," the makers of OMGYes have provided three videos -- each featuring an attractive woman describing her favorite edging technique.
Amber, a vivacious Latina mom, likes to be brought to the edge and then left there for a moment before starting again. Zoey, a pert green-eyed college student, likes to distract herself at the last minute by tapping around her vulva. Sidney, a confident older woman, likes to break it up with long strokes on her inner lips.
Watching Amber, Zoey, and Sidney describe the very different ways they prefer to "edge," I begin to see the power of this program as a communication tool for couples. As a sex therapist, I know there's a limit to how explicitly you can teach this kind of thing in the office. Yes, there are video clips out there, and I often recommend for this purpose. But OMGYes takes it to the next level.
The only thing more direct would be for a woman to just demonstrate the technique herself to her partner. But most of the couples I see in my office have tried that already. It can sometimes get a little frustrating.
Learning From Your Mistakes
This, I realize, is where having a virtual partner may really add value. A piece of software never gets frustrated. You can make any number of mistakes, and since the software isn't really going to have an orgasm anyway it doesn't really care.
I try seeing what happens when I do the WRONG stroke. I'm with Amber, the Latina mom who likes circles. Tentatively, I try crossing Amber's vulva horizontally with my finger. Back and forth. Definitely not a circle.
Unlike a real partner, who might smack me for this, Amber is infinitely patient. No matter how badly I perform, she refuses to lose heart.
"Almost!" she says. "Try again!" I go back to circling, grateful for her patience with me.
The women on OMGYes never get discouraged. The ones I've met so far have all been likeable, realistic, and speak with authority. But sometimes the effect can be a little toorealistic.
As I'm practicing edging with Zoey, my phone rings. It's a call I need to take.
"Hey, why'd you stop?" asks Zoey. "I was enjoying that!"
Her voice is so earnest and kind that despite myself I feel a pang of guilt. Hoping the person I'm speaking with on the phone didn't hear Zoe's voice, I turn down the volume and continue my call.
"Come on, don't leave yet," she purrs.

I'm momentarily afraid she's going to be mad at me. But instead she just covers her vulva with her hand and says matter-of-factly, "Let's try another time." The fact that I know it's a simulation doesn't keep me from worrying that she's just being nice -- and that I've hurt her feelings. It's a little disconcerting.
Now Let's See What Happens Next
OMGYes is going to be an excellent learning tool for women and their partners. It's beautiful, well-organized, and clearly represents an enormous investment of research and planning on the part of its developers.
The wide differences in how each of these women masturbates are a good reminder, if one was needed, that you should never assume you know what a woman wants. As always, there's no substitute for just asking her to show you.
I'm eager to find out what happens when real couples start practicing with it.
In the meantime, I'll try to remember not to pick up the phone while it's running.

2PAC: THE BIOPIC!!!!!!!!!!!! ‘Walking Dead’ Star Danai Gurira Is Becoming Tupac’s Mother For ‘All Eyez On Me’

You might be used to watching Danai Gurira slice and dice up reanimated corpses as the badass samurai sword-wielding Michonne on “The Walking Dead,” but for her next role she’ll be displaying her maternal might on the big screen.

Gurira has been cast as hip-hop legend Tupac “2Pac” Shakur’s mother in “All Eyez On Me,” a biopic film named after his most renowned (and still highly in-demand, 20 years later) album.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Gurira has been confirmed for the role of Afeni Shakur, the inspiration for Shakur’s beloved “Dear Mama,” opposite the rapper’s living doppelgängerDemetrius Shipp, Jr., who was cast in the lead in December.
“All Eyez” is expected to chronicle the rise and tragic fall of Shakur as he rose to rap stardom in the ’90s — during which he was incarcerated for sexual assault and later bailed out by Suge Knight in exchange for signing with Death Row Records and ultimately ensnaring himself in the East Coast-West Coast feud which cost his life.

HACKING: Dutch Police Claim They Can Crack Emails on Special Encrypted Blackberries

Blackberry already trades on the strength of its software’s security, so you’d think that a special $2,000 ultra-encrypted Berry would be a guarantee of privacy. According to Dutch police, not so much.

In a report on Dutch blog misdaadnieuws.com, since confirmed by Motherboard, the Netherlands Forensic Institute has claimed to break a series of encrypted emails held on Blackberrys modified by Canadian firm Phantom Secure.
The company claims to offer a “high-end communication service designed for sophisticated and exclusive executives,” but the reality seems to be a little different. According to leaked documents, the NFI managed to pull 325 emails off a device, and decrypt 279 of them.
The technique only seems to work when authorities have physical access to a device, so it’s hardly going to be a solution to the problem of encryption that politicians so love to discuss. But it’s a good reminder that nothing—not even a special hyper-secure device—is impervious to the long arm of the Dutch law.

USA: CAUGHT STEALING; Horny Shoplifter Bites Off WalMart Employee’s Finger

According to the police report, which was first uncovered by the Smoking Gun, Carolynn Wright, 23, became violent after being discovered stealing from the Walmart in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Sunday.

It states that Walmart loss prevention officers, Candice Lawsom and Suzanne Koseroski, followed Wright out of the store and tried to stop her from taking off with her alleged loot, which included a pack of condoms, lube, a bra and two pairs of panties.
A scuffle erupted between the three women, during which Wright allegedly punched Koseroski in the head, causing her to bleed from the ear. Wright then allegedly proceeded to chomp down on Lawsom’s hand.
Refusing to let go, Wright bit off a piece of the woman’s finger. The finger tip was later discovered by police. When a customer who witnessed the altercation tried to call 911, Wright grabbed the woman’s phone and then pulled her hair before getting punched in the face.
The Walmart employee who had her finger bit off required stitches, and her finger tip was not able to be reattached, police reported.
The total value of the items that Wright tried to steal was $40.07.
